Cokes Sr. founded The New Haven Missionary Baptist Church and most recently the Friendship Progressive Baptist Church. Michael Cokes is a Pastor with a mission to enhance the body of Christ in every area of Life.

Reverend Michael Allen Cokes, Sr. is known as a dynamic, pastor, teacher, preacher, trailblazer, mentor, talented singer and drummer. Reverend Cokes is the husband of Tangie Cokes and the father of Frederick, Michael Jr. Alphaeous, Litisha, Jasmine, Michaela, and Jennifer. He is also the dear grandfather to Jashuan, Christian, Jrue and Malachi.

He received his call to preach in November 1992. He was licensed to preach The Gospel on April 23, 1995 by the late Reverend Benjamin L. Nabors of the Great Faith Progressive MBC. He received his Ordination as Minister of The Gospel on April 19, 1999 with the oversight of Dr. Nathaniel Hull Sr. in West Helena, Arkansas. He served As Pastor of Fountain Head Missionary Baptist Church in Marvel, Arkansas for several years before returning back to his hometown and becoming the Founder and Pastor of New Haven Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully.

Born July 30, 1964 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin he is the only child of the late Isabella Cokes. Submitting to the will of God he is a recent graduate of Agape Christian Bible College. He holds a Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling. In addition, he holds both a Masters and Bachelors Degree in Theology, a Bachelors Degree in Divinity and a Associate Degree in Theology. On February 8th, 2013 Pastor Cokes became Dr. Michael Cokes Sr. after he received his Doctorate in Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College. He has served at many levels during his walk with Christ and is an exceptional pastor, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
